Lillooet’s Finest Water is produced using a highly-efficient 6-step filtration process that removes virtually all impurities from the water we deliver to our customers.
- We start with water from Lillooet’s municipal water supply, which is a good source, although notoriously hard (laden with minerals) and treated with chlorine. The first step in our water filtration and purification is softening, a process which removes most of the calcium and magnesium, the primary minerals which make water hard.
- The softened water flows through a sediment filter to remove most of the particulate matter in the water.
- The softened, filtered water goes through an activated carbon filter, which removes the chlorine as well as any unwanted taste or odour.
- This thoroughly filtered water now goes through reverse osmosis, a purification process using a semi-permeable membrane that removes over 99% of remaining impurities and leaves the water rich in oxygen.
- Next, this purified water is treated with ozone, a substance known to kill bacteria, viruses and dangerous pathogens 300 times faster than chlorine, though it leaves no chemicals in the water.
- Finally, the water is exposed to ultraviolet light, which is also an effective method of killing bacteria, viruses and pathogens.

The result is the safest, purest, best tasting water available.
We test every bottling to ensure total dissolved solids (TDS) meet the toughest standard, much more stringent than Canadian Drinking Water Standards (CDWS). We have our water laboratory tested monthly to ensure it is free from coliforms and meets the strictest standards for bacteria, again many times more stringent than CDWS.
Our facility is regularly inspected by provincial health authorities and our bottled water meets and exceeds all applicable federal and provincial regulations for potable water. Bottled water cannot contain sweeteners or chemical additives and must be both calorie and sugar free.
